A pre-release reference for the publicly named Mastermind and Demonologist archetypes, with confirmed limits on their unverified encounter effects.

The examples are public labels. Exact actions, bonuses, restrictions, and interactions are not confirmed.

What does the public material confirm?

Mastermind and Demonologist appear as Archetype examples. Separately, the Steam store page gives a demonologist communicating with a possessed book as an example of using a party strength to solve a situation. That supports a contextual role, not a guarantee that every Demonologist can solve every related encounter.

ArchetypePublicly supported noteNot confirmed
MastermindNamed as an Archetype exampleExact actions and effects
DemonologistNamed as an Archetype; possessed-book example appears in the store descriptionUniversal requirement or success rate

The related possessed book encounter keeps this example separate from a fixed character build.

How should an archetype be tested?

Record the exact situation, the hero selected, the visible action, the result, and any cost. Repeat the situation with another suitable trait when the game allows it. A thematic match is useful evidence, but it should not become a hard requirement until the release build shows that alternatives fail or produce a different result.

Compare results with the trait system and encounter consequences pages.

What should not be claimed yet?

Do not assign damage, percentage bonuses, guaranteed dialogue, or ending access to either archetype without direct evidence. The supplied sources do not publish those values.
